‘the unity of diversity first starts with an identity found in commitment to solidarity with the Other.’
what do you think about this statement?
There’s U-N-I (You and I) in unity – it doesn’t work any other way…but commitment – those might be “fighting” words to some. I can tolerate you, I can help you if it suits me, but that’s at my choice – commitment suggests something else! It becomes less about me and more about us.
There is no purpose without the Other.
Life without people is void of meaning.
The guarantee of the Holy Spirit and the empowering grace of Jesus is not just so we can become spiritually successful giants.
No. The power, the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, etc. that we have been given through the presence of God inside us is meant to be exercised in our every day lives and extended to the lost and broken.
So, I agree!
